One of the main Charities that Rockingham Display Company has endorsed and supported in the last 10 years is LOROS. On Sunday September 21st 2008 was to be a special fund raising event and It entailed 12 miles of local Leicestershire country walks in aid of the charity.

On behalf of Rockingham Display Company, Alan Parker and Georgina Blowfield took up the challenge in aid of this meaningful cause and we are glad to say, completed the 12 Miles bravely amidst beautiful Leicestershire countryside and thankfully glorious weather.

The idea to walk for LOROS was originated by Alan Parker in memory of his brother Darren and taken up by Rockingham Display and supported by all it’s employees by way of sponsorship.

Between Alan and Gina, it is estimated around 500 pounds has been added to the LOROS charity fund and congratulations for their time and effort (supported along the way with Gina’s husband Mick). It can only be commended for what is a wonderful cause.

Rockingham Display Company – for which Alan Parker did the original design for it’s ‘Rockingham Logo’ back in 1989 (below) – are soon to celebrate 20 Years of Trading on January 1st 2009 at it’s site at Highfields Farm, Huncote Road, Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire.

Due to the inspiration of Alan and Gina, Rockingham will be looking towards expanding it’s donations to LOROS in it’s 20th year and gives praise to all other walkers that took part in this charitable event.
