What Products Are Sold At Point Of Purchase Posts?
Tuesday, February 17th, 2009There are many shops and stores that often have point of purchase sections for quick and convenient spending. It has been shown that impulse buying is more common than maybe people first thought. Reasons for this is because buyers don’t want to feel they are missing out on a bargain and are worried it may not be there next time they return to the shop.
So what do buyers purchase from point of purchase displays?
Point of purchase displays can be developed for certain products that include:
• Mobile Phones
• Cosmetics
• Clothes and accessories
• Trainers and shoes
• Car parts
The reason items such as those mentioned above are sold at point of purchase displays is because they are items that people may not need but they want. The instant purchase of that item often is more appealing to a consumer than the waiting and queuing for items that they have to go to a specialist shop for. Point of purchase display are very useful in shops for making quick sales that may have been missed if only placed on shelves as part of the store.
It is important for displays to clearly show the buyer what is on offer. How impulse buyers decide to spend their money can be influenced by the amount of distractions that are around them in the time of buying. It has been said that the use of colour, patterns and signs in the area of purchasing, the more likely it is people will part with their cash.
Buyers prefer to spend at point of purchase displays because they can see before them, the items they are about to buy. They also know the minute they pay, the item is there’s and the feeling of this immediate gratification is intensified when buying from a point of purchase display.
